We ♥︎ New Databases

Humber Libraries has added three new databases to its collection: Scopus, Statista and Computers & Applied Sciences Complete. 

• Scopus contains abstract and citation information for peer-reviewed research in the social, physical, medical and life sciences including journals, books, and conference papers. Scopus is especially helpful for systematic reviews and searching broadly across scientific literature.   
• Statista contains statistics, charts, graphs and tables on marketing, demographics, consumers, communication, technology, politics, health, leisure and public opinion polls on a wide variety of topics. Checkout the most popular children’s sports in Japan, the percentage of Canadians who listen to podcasts, the Canadian construction market, or even Bitcoin prices over time. 
• Computers & Applied Sciences Complete contains peer-reviewed academic journal articles covering computing, technology and engineering disciplines with a focus on the business and social implications of new technology.  
• Very Short Introductions are eBooks that offer concise introductions to a diverse range of subjects, and are an excellent primer for college level students or the enthusiast. All titles are written by experts in the field who combine facts, analysis, and new ideas into comprehensive overviews on a given topic, such as artificial intelligence, big data, environmental ethics or the history of cinema.
