Leganto: Course Resource Lists in Blackboard

Let the Library Build your Leganto List

The Library Leganto team can create your course resources list for you.

It doesn't matter if you are designing a new course or if it is a few days before the semester starts, the Library can work with you on creating a list and getting it ready for students to access.

STEP 1: Email copyright@humber.ca
  • Provide a list of the resources you wish to assign, along with the course code
  • If applicable, indicate which resources are required, which are supplemental, optional, etc.
  • If finalized, detail how you would like the list structured (week, unit, module, alphabetical, etc.) and which readings are in which section.
  • If you have files (PDFs, etc.) for any of the resources, include them with the email.

STEP 2: Library Review
  • The Library will review the list to see what sources we have access to:
    • in the Library's online collections
    • in the Library's physical collection
    • on the Internet
  • For material the Library does not currently have access to either online or in a print copy (from which a short excerpt can be created from), we will review what the available options are to acquire access.
  • Depending on the availability of the resources, most Leganto lists can be completed and ready for students to access in 2-10 days.

STEP 3: Details on Course Start Date and Course Sections
  • The Library will contact you when the list is completed and ready to be connected to your Blackboard course site.
  • Please provide the following information if available:
    • Confirmation about what semester the course will be running
    • Will there be multiple sections of the course?
      • If there are multiple sections, will more than one faculty be teaching?
      • If there are multiple sections, will they be merged into an XL course in Blackboard?

STEP 4: Connecting Leganto List to Blackboard Course Site
  • The Library will provide you with the details on how to add access to the Leganto list in your Blackboard course site.
