Unleash your creative side by exploring the innovative resources and services offered at the Idea Lab! The Idea Lab is a library initiative designed to support student digital fluency at Humber. All students are welcome!

Studio Spaces

The Idea Lab has bookable spaces on the third floor of the LRC building at North campus and the third floor of the Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship (G building) at Lakeshore campus. These spaces include video studios, audio studios, 3D printers, sewing machines, laser and vinyl cutters. These spaces can be reserved online at both the North campus and Lakeshore campus

Please note: While our spaces are available to all Humber and Guelph-Humber students, staff, and faculty, priority is given to students working on assignments.

Workshops

Sign up for an open workshop to learn about a variety of topics including video creation, building simple websites, and 3D printing. Workshop descriptions and schedules can be found on the Idea Lab website.

3D Print at the Idea Lab

The Idea Lab has multiple 3D printers available for booking. Staff are available to assist with 3D printing so you can bring your project to life!

To book a 3D printer, all you need to do is:

  1. Successfully complete our online tutorial and quiz (this takes approximately 15 minutes).
  2. Attend an in-person workshop (sign-up available upon successful completion of the quiz!).
  3. Reserve a 3D printer at North or Lakeshore.
