Nursing Week - May 9-15, 2022

Spotlight image adapted from Ontario Nurses' Assoication:

Dedicated to Care. Fighting for Change. | Les soins sont notre mission. Le changement est notre combat.

Every year in May, we celebrate the Registered Nurses (RN), Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) and Nurse Practitioners (NP) who support us and our communities. The theme chosen by the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) this year reflects both the focus of the work that nurses do and their need to fight for better working conditions.

Explore these newly published ebooks to learn more about the work that nurses do during times of crisis.

If you prefer print books, here are two about the experiences of nurses in communities in Canada

Watch these films and documentaries to move beyond the common movie portrayal of nurses as romantic figures for the male leads to fight over (yes Pearl Harbor, we are talking about you).

And if you are a current nursing student preparing for an NCLEX exam, don’t forget that Humber Libraries has many books and study guides to help you.
