For National Indigenous History Month, Humber Libraries is collaborating with Indigenous Education & Engagement to highlight new and diverse Indigenous voices, histories and experiences across Turtle Island. Each Friday in June, a member of the IE&E community will recommend a book that has influenced, moved or inspired them. In turn, the library will share a recommended reading list that complements their selection of the week.

Liana's Book Pick: Sweetest Kulu by Celina Kalluk

"I enjoy that this children's book is a bedtime poem, featuring many Inuit traditional values and teachings offered by the Arctic animals while emphasizing the connection to the land. This board book would be a great story to share with "Kulus" (in Inuktitut an endearment term for babies and children) in your life."

Liana Canzian is Oneida (Bear Clan) & Italian. She is the Indigenous Student Advisor at Humber College. In her role, she offers student guidance, supports transition, navigates interests, prepares students for graduation and supports their career goals. As a former student who attended various post-secondary institutions, she understand the unique needs, concerns and demands many students face
